Das Hedbox NERO-SX ist ein V-Mount-Akku mit voller RED-Kompatibilität (98 Wh). Durch den integrierten Datenkommunikationschip, der mit dem RED-Protokoll kompatibel ist, kann der exakte Energiestand des Akkus auf das Display der Kamera übertragen werden. Dieser ist auch in 25%-Schritten an den vier blauen LEDs am Akku selbst ablesbar. Die Ladung funktioniert über den integrierten D-Tap-Stromausgang, der 14,8 V, 148 W / 6,8 A an professionelles Equipment abgeben kann. Ein zusätzlicher USB-Stromausgang mit 5 V erlaubt zudem das zeitgleiche Aufladen anderer Geräten wie einem Smartphone, Tablet oder Ähnlichem.
