Studio cameras and accessories
Studio cameras, also known as system cameras, go live on air in the studio and in outside production with OB vans or are used for recording TV productions. The image signals are transmitted from the camera via triax or fibre optic cable to the image mixer or recorder, or played out directly live as a broadcast. In addition to audio and video data, signals for control and communication can also be transmitted via the bidirectional cables, making it easy to integrate intercom and tally systems. The use of fibre optic technology allows higher data rates and longer transmission distances.
There are different types of studio cameras. The spectrum ranges from compact box cameras and PTZ cameras to fully equipped broadcast studio cameras with 2/3" sensor and B4 lens mount for SD, HD or UHD/4K live productions. With the appropriate adapters, cameras without a native Triax connection can also be used in broadcast operations. Studio cameras and suitable accessories are offered by manufacturers such as Sony, Ikegami, Panasonic and Blackmagic Design.
